This entry is in english so that my friends from the MS-Forum can read it. We had dinner in Toowoomba, the city of residence of my fellow kurmudgeon Ian and his lovely wife Annie and his son James (to become an engineer) in the restaurant Encores in downtown Toowoomba.
The pictures are sub-optimal since the flash did not always operates. But the dinner was excellent and we enjoyed even the last crumb!

Here goes:

Entrées:

Goats cheese fritters, spanish onion, raisin and watercress, fig jam. Look at the tools, very promising and indeed, we needed every device!

Battered prawns, avocado and roasted garlic mousse, fennel and cress salad. Tasted better than it looks here, one of the pictures with the faulty flash.

Main Courses:

Pot roasted lamb leg, eschallots, thyme and rosemary pudding, and pan juices. Ian special treat.

Roasted chicken breast, pine nut pesto, wrapped in pancetta, grilled polenta. James went for that and made a good choice.

Green Thai curry, barramundi, scallops and prawns, jasmine rice, wilted greens. Brigitte and I had the curry as a reminder of our recent trip to Vietnam and Thailand.

Eye fillet, cafe de paris butter, spinach, garlic mash, red wine jus. Annie chose the hearty beef which looked georgeous.

Wine: Three Pigs. Although only Ian, my wife Brigitte and I drank it, the name does not insinuate anything. Honi soit, qui mal y pense (french proverb meaning "Shame to him who thinks evil of it").
