A friend of mine and I travelled in late October 10 through California and Arizona. Since the blog on my website is in German and I would like to share my experience with my friends that only speak English, I decided to write a short summary of the trip in English. For me it was a trip that I did on several occasions in the past, my friend travelled in California 30 years ago.

We started out in Los Angeles and did a sightseeing tour around the city.

In Long Beach, we found another old-timer, the majestic Queen Mary. She lies here and is transformed into a Hotel / Restaurant. But still an impressive sight!

Huge loading cranes in Long Beach are used to unload the freight from China and other countries. They unfortunately only rarely load freight from the US for destinations Far East. The jobs that the US companies export to these countries are easier to transport!

In the Hinterland of Santa Barbara is agriculture the big thing. The workers in the fields sometimes have their earthly needs for which these plastic boxes provide.

Pistachios are one of the main crops, this impressive machine shakes the trees and the nuts are being collected. One person (mostly Mexicans ...) can „treat“ a lot of trees.

Fresh strawberries (in late October!) provided for a welcome lunch on the beach near Moro Rock.

These Sea Lions enjoy the warm sun at a beach along US-1 after a long hunt in the cold ocean. They obviously do not feed on Strawberries only.

San Francisco is known as the „Fog City“. On our first day, this proved to be true: The famous antenna on Twin Peaks is hardly visible!

Later in the afternoon, we met with two nice ladies from a MS-forum that I contribute sometimes. They live around Berkeley and we had a nice dinner at an Italian place.
